Wellington Riding is one of the UK’s biggest and best-known equestrian centres. Set in 300 acres of the Duke of Wellington’s beautiful Hampshire estate, we are a British Horse Society Approved Riding School, Livery Yard and ‘Where to Train’ Centre to BHSI.

We have a fantastic range of facilities, over 60 well-schooled horses and ponies and all of our coaches are BHS qualified, and individuals are carefully selected to ensure that our clients receive the highest possible standards of tuition. Whether you are a total beginner, a competent rider improving your dressage and jumping skills, or training towards professional qualifications, we can improve your horsemanship in a friendly, safe environment. We can cater for most ages, heights, sizes and abilities!
We run lessons on many levels from Tuesdays to Saturdays, including some evening sessions (Shows only on Sundays and Mondays), all year round, as well as student training courses and junior and adult holiday weeks. We are a BHS exam centre up to Stage 4 and ITT and host an expanding range of competitions, clinics, demonstrations and lectures.
Wellington boasts a total of 7 riding arenas: the huge 70 by 30 metre Dukes Hall, where we hold most of our indoor competitions, a 20 by 40 metre indoor school, the 60 by 20 metre outdoor international dressage arena, the 70 by 40 metre outdoor jumping arena, a surfaced outdoor cross country arena, complete with a selection of moveable cross-country fences, a further 20 by 60 metre outdoor school; a lunge arena and a mini school for the tiny tots.
Our superb Junior Courses bring children from all over the world for residential riding holidays. Adult tailor-made courses are designed to enhance riding and horse care at any level. Clinics, affiliated and unaffiliated shows are held throughout the year and we host shows on most Sundays and Mondays. See our Event Pages for dates, online entries, event times and results.
The Farm Shop Cafe at Wellington Riding gives you the opportunity to have a coffee or a meal after you’ve ridden whilst enjoying being able to watch two arenas.
We also have a Shop including grooming, tack and clothing which can cater for your needs should you require any riding goods. If we do not have it in stock we will happily assist you by ordering the item in for your convenience.
